Been busy lately so haven’t been able to take or post as many photos as I would have liked to. I was going to do a few more trips before posting any Dandenong Ranges photos, but it could be a while before that happens so I thought I would post what I had now and add the rest later.
The photo below was taken at Sherbrooke Falls, a short 1.5 km from the nearest carpark. It was taken just after some heavy rain which meant heavier water flows but unfortunately also numerous leeches on the hike in.
After a slippery scramble down a mud embankment I managed to get to the bottom of the falls for a different perspective. Plenty of big mosquitoes around near the bottom of the falls. Will have to remember to bring a lighter (for the leeches) and insect spray next time for the mozzies. This photo was taken on a clearer day than the one above, so it lacks that soft, dreamy quality that I like about the first photo.
The photo below was taken on the hike in to Sherbrooke Falls. The vegetation and the mist make it appear like something from a dream hence the name for the post – visit make believe. I think anyone that has visited the Dandenong Ranges on a misty winter’s day will be able to associate with the title of the post.
Another photo taken on the hike in to Sherbrooke Falls, this one taken on a different day. I think it goes some way to capturing the atmosphere of the place, but I have yet to take a shot which truly evokes the feeling of being there.
A shot of a stream I found whilst walking around in Sherbrooke, where many of the trails intersect or follow streams.
