After spending numerous weekends attending this function or that function I finally managed to get an evening off to do some photography. Instead of heading out to the countryside like I usually do, I thought I would take advantage of being relatively close to the city and take some shots of Melbourne.
I was lucky enough to have the MCG to myself which was good as it meant there were less distractions.
Had some time to kill before sunset so I wandered around Rod Laver Arena and the tennis centre for a bit. What caught my eye in this scene was the light and shadow on the undulations in the lawn.
This is probably my favourite shot for the night and was what I originally set out to capture. I was hoping for more trains in the foreground to give it a more dynamic feel but I guess you can’t have everything. Might also try crop this into more of a landscape format at some point in the future and see what that looks like.
