Over the new year I was lucky enough to spend some time in Sydney. It’s always a pleasure to visit Sydney, with there being no shortage of things to do or places to see.
Always worth a visit is the Sydney Fish Market at Pyrmont, with an abundance of fresh seafood and numerous cafes that will cook the fresh seafood to order.
Another thing I like doing in Sydney is poking around all the historic buildings, like the Queen Victoria building and the Strand Arcade.
One of my favourite things to do whilst in Sydney is to catch the sunrise / sunset from Observatory Hill. A perfect way to end the day is to sit under the branches of a Banyan Tree watching the play of colours in the sky as the sun sets and the city lights flicker on.
As we had more time on this trip, we took the ferry to Manly and hired a kayak from the wharf. Using the kayak we were able to access a number of beaches on the bay side on Manly, with the beach in the photo, Store Beach, only accessible by water. In the summer time, there is also a Peter’s ice-cream boat which goes around selling ice cream at all the beaches.
It’s hard to see in the photo above, but the black things on the rocks in the photo above are actually thousands and thousands of Sydney rock oyster. They looked tempting!
Looks like a beach in Far North Queensland!
The famous Bondi Icebergs above and Bronte Beach below. The Bondi Icebergs is so-called because in order to be granted full-membership, prospective members need to complete 75 winter swims over a 5 year period.
The shot of Bronte Beach was taken as part of the famous Bondi-Coogee Coastal Walk, a picturesque cliff-top walk that rewards you with views over some of Sydney’s finest beaches.
