We had a spare long weekend so decided to take a short break to Hobart. Being less than 1 hour away by plane, it’s a great chance for Melbournians to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. We arrived late on Friday night and spent the Saturday morning at the wonderful Salamanca markets and then wandered around atmospheric Battery Point.
As we had a spare half day the next day, we then decided to find Secret Falls, located just behind Hobart at the foot of Mt Wellington. It splinters off from the Myrtle Gully track and with moss-covered rocks and trickling falls is a a great little detour in you’re in the area.
Be careful, as the path down to the falls whilst short can be quite slippery.
