It’s been a while since I posted. I’ve finally gotten to posting some further photos from our babymoon, 4 months after our baby was born!
Queenstown is as busy as chaotic as ever, but there is always a bit of peace and quiet to be found not far outside of it. The above shot was taken near the Gibbston Valley Wine Region, a quick drive from Queenstown. Make sure to check out Chard Farm Vineyard when you are there – it is a vineyard seemingly built into a cliff-face, the views are spectacular. They do some delicious Pinot Noir as a bonus.
There are some spectacular views on the South Island. This one is particularly special as it does not involve a multi-day hike to enjoy it. Look for it on the Crown Range Road on the way from Queenstown to Wanaka.
Autumn views from Lake Alexandrina, located near its much more famous counterpart Lake Tekapo. As a photographer, I enjoyed the solitude here.
Another discovery on this most recent trip was Lake Hayes, on the way to Arrowtown. It makes a wonderful stop for a couple of hours to walk off lunch from one of the wineries in the region and is filled with Autumn colours.
At the tip of Lake Wakatipu you will find the Glenorchy boardwalk which I greatly enjoyed. There are some beautiful views to be had from the boardwalk.
One more from Lake Hayes.
Rolling hills as seen from the Crown Range Road.
Take a break from the autumn colours and enjoy the aquamarine colours at Bob’s Cove. Often overlooked as people speed from Queenstown to Glenorchy, stopping only at Bennett’s Bluff. It’s worth checking out these smaller stops along the way for some hidden treasures.
Soaking up the views, looking towards Chard Farm Vineyard.
